ABOUT APRIL CARLSON, LCSW
Is it increasingly difficult to get out of bed and face your day? Could you be happier, but struggle to escape a persistent downward pull? Sometimes the voice of our own inner critic becomes the loudest voice we hear. For over a decade April has listened and walked a healing path with resilient individuals working through transitions, role changes and challenges in life.
April is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned an MSW at the University of Southern California and concurrent B.A.’s in English Literature and Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. Witnessing transformation in individuals and families has driven her commitment to sitting with others in their grief and uncovering the strengths that will move a suffering person towards relief and better functioning.
April is trained in EMDR and experienced in using Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic techniques to explore with you the modality that best fits your needs today and will bring the results you are seeking. April will listen as you tell your story and collaborate with you to identify the strengths that have brought you success in life. Together you’ll nurture the skills and qualities within you that will restore balance and emotional health.
April was recognized by the Office of Health Equity and Inclusion at the University of Utah for Leadership in Inclusive Excellence.
