Our life path hardly turns out how we plan it to, so I’m here to help you figure out how to navigate the road less traveled!  Because of the unexpected twists and turns in my own life, I have a passion for helping others embrace their own struggles and teaching them to use these experiences for their good.  While my struggles may not be the same as your own, I have an empathetic, nonjudgmental, and gently challenging approach that gives me the ability to help you with whatever your challenges may be.  I have gathered training and skills in the treatment of addictions, codependency, mood and anxiety disorders, dysfunctional and entangled relationships, distressed marriages, sexual issues, trauma recovery, as well as common life or relational challenges such as boundaries, loss of self, grief and loss, and adjustment to change.  My approach encompasses emotionally focused, psycho-dynamic, and Eastern therapeutic techniques, with a focus on helping you have the experience of change in therapy.

My focus in individual therapy is on helping you develop compassion and trust for yourself so that you acquire an ability to intuitively and confidently guide yourself through life’s varied paths.  While you may feel broken, lost, or inadequate, I know you’re not!  I believe you already have everything you need to heal and live your best life, and would love to help you discover how to mobilize those powerful resources within you.

With couples, my mission is to help you and your loved one find a way to intimacy and connection, not just in spite of, but because of, the tough issues.  Your gridlocked problems that make you both feel so stuck and hopeless now can be resolved and open a new path to a greater level of closeness as you learn to step out of your destructive cycle and into a healthier one.  My job is to give you an experience that shows you a completely new way of relating—one that offers hope and happiness.

Whether you are coming in as an individual, couple, family, or group member, my unique approach to therapy offers creative ways through the stuck areas of your life, perhaps through art and expressive therapies, or perhaps by simply helping you open up your eyes to the abundant opportunities in your life for healing, thriving, and growing.  I believe your healing process should be holistic and involve a healthy sense of humor.  Come by to see if we’re a good fit!
