Michelle Walker, CMHC-I, Art Therapy Intern
Hi, I’m Michelle. I help people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves find clarity and healing through creative expression. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, significant life or religious transitions, relationship challenges, or issues around parenting or sexual health, art therapy can reach places words alone may not. Together, we’ll unlock and explore buried emotions, cultivate meaningful coping skills, and empower you to reclaim your own voice and wisdom.
My own experiences as a mother and my personal journey through perinatal depression deeply inform my compassionate approach. My therapeutic style blends the neurosequential model of therapeutics, attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, Jungian analysis, and person-centered therapy with a trauma-informed approach. I am LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, sex-positive, and pursuing a certificate in human sexuality.
Through the process of art therapy, I believe your creative images and mark-making hold unique wisdom for healing, and you certainly don’t need to be an artist to engage in this powerful process. Forget what your 7th-grade art teacher said about you — you have an innate ability to find healing through creative expression. I’m also trained in traditional talk therapy and can seamlessly blend approaches based on your comfort and individual needs.
If you’re feeling alone in your suffering, seeking help can feel like an overwhelming task. You’re not alone. I’ll be by your side to help you get to a place of self-knowing, stability, and empowerment.
